Think the Broad Street Run is pretty historic, huh? How about a race that is even older than the cities famous 10 miler? That’s right, the Media 5 Miler is one of the oldest races Philly has to offer. This 5 mile race, set in the suburbs of Philadelphia, has been ongoing for longer than some of the most historic races you will find in Philadelphia.
The Media 5 Miler, which originated in 1979 as a local fundraiser, is now in its 38th year! Join this historic race on June 16th in Media as the 5 mile tradition continues.
The 2.5 mile, double loop course is a challenge. With twists and turns, the short and steep and long rising hills on this course brings out the beast in runners. There is even a free Kids’ Fun Runs at Barrall Field with age groups up to 12. Volunteers, families and kids alike enjoy the stress free events where everyone is a winner.
This race is truly an all day experience!
Before the race – enjoy an historic walking tour, stroll the lovely streets to see the eclectic and friendly neighborhoods that make up Media.
