The 39th Annual Penn Medicine Radnor Run, held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 provides a wonderful opportunity to get involved in a great community event. The morning’s main event, led by Celebrity Chair, ABC Action News Meteorologist Cecily Tynan, is a 5-Mile USA Track & Field sanctioned and certified race through the surrounding scenic Radnor neighborhood. The event also includes an untimed 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk for adults and youth of all ages. Awards will be given to the best overall male and female finishes, as well as the first, second and third place front runners of the 5-mile run in each of 5 age divisions.
The race starts and finishes is at Radnor Township Building located at 301 Iven Ave in Wayne. Race day is October 30 and start time is 8:30 AM.
Proceeds from the Penn Medicine Radnor Run support the American Lung Association, the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. The money raised helps the ALA provide important programs right here in this region; including clean air and asthma education in schools, smoking prevention/cessation for teens and adults, and research at leading institutions in the Philadelphia area. The ALA is also working to unite women to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health. Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of women in the US, yet less than 1% of women surveyed were aware of this. For these reasons, we stand together as one LUNG FORCE – for our breath, for our lives.
