Be Fit For a Good Cause!

We can all agree staying fit is a great thing. But how could you make it better? If you added a great cause behind it. Below are some awesome events happening in Philly that benefit some great causes!

If you are going to pay to stay fit, you may as well put that money to good use.

10/18- SELF Pink Spinning Ride at FlyWheel Philly! Spin class that will support Breast Cancer Awareness. Classes taking place at 10:30 and 11:30.

10/19- AIDS Walk Philly 5K- This is the Philadelphia Region’s largest annual HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event.

10/25- Flyers Charities Halloween 5K. This run benefits Flyers Charities to help support local non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region.

10/26- 23rd Annual Lupus Loop 5K. Proceeds from the Lupus Loop 5K run and 2.5-mile walk benefit local research, support programs and services, education and advocacy for the local chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America

10/26- Penn Medicine Radnor Run. This is a 5 Mile timed running race and 1 Mile Walk/Fun Run. The money raised helps the American Lung Association provide important programs right here in this region.

10/30- Run 4 UR Life 3K. Hosted by MANNA, this 3K run helps deliver food to those in need. Check out their awesome promo video here.

11/2- Free to Breathe 5K. Free to Breathe is a partnership of lung cancer survivors, advocates, researchers, healthcare professionals and industry leaders aiming to increase the lung cancer survival rate.

11/9- Lemon Run 5K. This run supports the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in their quest to find better treatments and cures for all kids with cancer.

11/9- The Forever Young Health & Wellness Event. All proceeds from Forever Young will support Raymond and Miriam Klein JCC services for vulnerable seniors throughout the City of Philadelphia.

12/7- Girls On The Run 5K– Girls on the run is a development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade that teaches life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games.

And as always check out the Back On My Feet organization that uses running to support and empower the homeless as well as Philadelphia Runner who will always accept shoe donations.

It’s not just important to keep your body fit, you should keep your mind and heart strong as well.
