Best Ways To Celebrate Global Running Day in Philadelphia

June 7th, also known by many as Global Running Day, will be a day the global running community celebrates the greatness that our sport is. (As if we needed a reason anyway). With so much excitement around just one day it’s hard to fit all the fun activities in one day. So we are here to let you know of all the awesome events going on for this one day while in Philly.

Group Workout With November Project Philly

Start your morning bright and early with a 6:25 AM workout with November Project. This is a sub 60 min workout filled with all the sweat and hugs you can handle. All fitness levels welcome and encouraged. No need to sign up, just show up ready to sweat!

Various Runner’s World Events

The beauty of living in Philadelphia is how close we are to the Runner’s World HQ. If you’re available that day you can head north for a few of their events. First off, the Runner’s World staff will be hosting a mile lunch run.  (Need tips on a successful lunch run? Check out some of their tips here)

Also, runners are invited to join them for a FREE 5K in the Lehigh Parkway starting at 6:30 vPM. Find more details here.


Community Run With Back On My Feet

Back on My Feet Philly will be hosting a community run on Wednesday June 7th, to celebrate Global Running Day. The fun run will be lead by Runner’s World own Suzanne Allaire. The group will meet in the rotunda at the Shops at Liberty Place at 5:30 PM for a pre run pump up with the Cigna Back on My Feet Treadmill Challenge Runners and then head out for a 3 mile run ending at Honeygrow 11th Street for 20% off stir-fry and salads! Back on My Feet Treadmill Challenge!

To celebrate Global Running Day, Back on My Feet Philadelphia will be hosting the Treadmill Challenge. The event will be held at the Shops at Liberty Place on June 7th ] from 11 AM to 7 PM. BoMF expects over 100 people, for 8 hours, on 5 treadmills in an effort to celebrate the power of running! The goal is to raise over $10,000 to help put 5 new members through the Back on My Feet Program. RunningCo. of Haddonfield GRD Group Run

To celebrate Global Running Day, RunningCo. of Haddonfield is hosting a group run at 6:30 PM. This will be a 6.5 mile group run in South Jersey. The group run will be between 2.8-6.5 miles. All paces are welcome!

But that’s not it, there’s more! There will be 12 Shoe raffles! Show up in your favorite brand’s running shoe to be entered into a raffle for a free shoe from the that brand. Plus the first 150 people will receive swag bags

261 Fearless Club Doylestown Group Run

Join this non-competitive running club, founded by Kathrine Switzer who pioneered women’s competitive running, for their morning run. 261 is the bib Kathrine wore when she ran the Boston Marathon in 1967, leading the way for us all! After our meet run, we will celebrate running with a post-work out breakfast in Doylestown! All fitness levels welcome.

The run starts at 8:30 AM at Burpee Park in Doylestown.
