For those that believe a beer pairs perfectly with running, a Beer Run is a very welcomed activity. What about a four day Beer Runner’s Summit?
If you are a supporter of the beer running movement you will not want to miss this. From April 19th through the 22nd the Beer Runners will be hosting both running and educational activities all centered around one activity: Beer Running!

April 19th: Lecture – “Running Away from Doctors and Hospitals”
Location: Bluemle Life Sciences Building, Room 101, 233 South 10th Street, Philadelphia
Time: 12:00 PM
Dr. Manuel Castillo, University of Granada Medical School, (yes, the “Professor”) will be hosting the opening lecture titled “Running Away From Doctors and Hospitals”. Dr. Castillo is a professor of Physiology where he specializes in nutrition, sports and anti-aging therapies

April 20th: Beer Run to Frankford Hall
Location: The run starts at Palmer Park, located at Frankford Ave & East Palmer Street in Fishtown
Time: 7:00 PM.
Join the Fishtown Beer Runners and Dr. Manuel Castillo, for a 4 to 6 mile run featuring some of Philadelphia’s important landmarks. Frankford Hall ( located at 1210 Frankford Avenue) will sponsor the first official toast “To The Professor”.

April 21st: Film Screening of BEER RUNNERS
Location: Dorrance H. Hamilton Building, Thomas Jefferson University, Connelly Auditorium, 1001 Locust Street Philadelphia
Time: 7:00 PM.
Come watch the award winning film, Beer Runners, which chronicles the story behind how the Fishtown Beer Runners got their start. (Trust us, you do not want to miss this). The event features a pre-film Meet & Greet Cocktail Party and the release of the Philadelphia Brewing Company’s special beer for runners, brewed in collaboration with Dr. Manuel Castillo, “The Professor” There will also be a Post Film Panel Discussion with Dr. Manuel Castillo and David April.
Admission will be by donation, $25 minimum, with proceeds to benefit the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center’s Social Work Emergency Fund. To donate, please go to Jefferson.edu/FishtownBeerRunners, or pay at the door the evening of the event with cash, check or credit card.
April 22nd: Morning Run With The Professor
Location: Meet at City Hall in the center courtyard
Time: 10:00 AM.
There will be a morning run with “The Professor”. All runners are invited for 3-5 mile run to the Art Museum and points beyond.
No registration is required, just show up!
April 22nd: Beer Running Symposium
