On May 21, 2016, the third annual Sly Fox Brewing Company Fox Trot 5K and Food Truck Festival will be run in Pottstown. This race is the perfect way for runners to spend their Saturday. And now registration is officially open!
Race Director Carl Ewald say the 2015 race was one of the most fun days he had all of last year. “Race directing is stressful. But, there is something special about this race. A great race, food trucks with great and naughty food, hanging out in the sun, playing yard games, listening to music, and enjoying delicious craft beer. It was a perfect day.”
Here are just a few awesome reasons to run:
If you love craft beer, you will love Sly Fox Brewing Company’s Fox Trot 5K. Professionally timed and measured. The Taps, Tunes and Trucks Festival kicks off at the finish line. Runners, their cheerleaders, and visitors can enjoy offerings from eight food trucks: including some of Philly’s favorites like The Cow and the Curd, HEART, and the Sunflower Truck Stop. Finally, live music and yard games like kan jam, life-sized beer pong, and corn hole will round out the finish line festivities.
There is no better way to end a race than with a beer in hand. The official race beer, Grisette Summer Ale was a Great American Beer Festival gold medal winner in 2014 (and silver medal winner in both 2013 and 2015). But, more importantly, it’s the perfect beer to enjoy in the sun after a great spring run. Grisette embodies refreshment.
The swag is top of the line for beer lovers too. Instead of t-shirts, the Fox Trot 5K will reward every finisher with a unique can glass and, instead of medals, runners will receive a sleek commemorative stainless steel koozie.
Special Charity and Team Gift
New this year, any runner who donates $20 or more to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training will be rewarded with an official race Freaker.
Runners who bring a team of 10 or more, will earn the free Freaker for their whole team.
What is a Freaker? It’s a new, unique koozie made of stretch yarn so it will fit on any beer from a 12oz can to a 32oz Growler. Check out the video of how it works.
